Spring on Our Doorstep

“What a strange thing!
to be alive
beneath cherry blossoms.”
― Kobayashi Issa

Spring is in full bloom and I had to share few snapshots of the season to celebrate the new beginning… Beautiful weather, vibrant colours and bees and people buzzing alike makes this season rather special…. So here are few photographs of the season from our doorsteps that brought so much joy to my heart!

“Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?"...
"It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine...”
― Frances Hodgson Burnett

“She turned to the sunlight
And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
"Winter is dead.”
― A.A. Milne

“It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart.”
― Rainer Maria Rilke

“Spring shows what God can do with a drab and dirty world.”
― Virgil Kraft

“I enjoy the spring more than the autumn now. One does, I think, as one gets older.”
― Virginia Woolf

“The world is exploding in emerald, sage, and lusty chartreuse - neon green with so much yellow in it. It is an explosive green that, if one could watch it moment by moment throughout the day, would grow in every dimension.”
― Amy Seidl

“Something in the air this morning made me feel like flying. . .
Spring Flight”
― Eileen Granfors

  2. OMG !! WHAT STUNNING PICS!! Truly you are a great inspiration.About your food blogs, well I havent spent much time there but am enjoying all your pics of the season bringing to us in India all these wonderful colours of changing season.I have myself spent some years in the US , hence experienced the thrill of the changing colours of the season.I would rather read your ramblings than the food as every on is into food blogging, self included but very few good photographers. Btw did you do any course in photography?Would you mind sharing your camera equipment details as I am now a beginner and terrified of going in for a costly cam. What is your suggestion for a beginner? What kind of cam gear would you recommend. Thanks for the time.

  3. Though I am a regular reader of many blogs including yours, this is the first time I am commenting in any of the blogs.
As much as I appreciate your cooking and writing style I must admit tempting photos in your blogs draw the readers to your page.
This time around I am in the country you live and can easily relate to the picture you have shared. Each of them are wonderful and it is like seeing things through my own eyes.
If I stop here without appreciating your cooking skills it will be an insult. I have tried couple of things in your blog and liked all the ones I tried.
Keep up the good work so that foodies can feast on your writing and photography too.

  5. @Radha Natarajan, thank you for your kind words of appreciation. I am happy to know that you find my rambling quite interesting :)
regarding photography skills, I haven't taken any photography courses. I am a self taught amateur photographer who has a long way to go :) I have Canon 450D dSLR and use 50mm 1.8 prime lens for taking most of the food photographs. You can read more about it in my About page. There are many food photography tutorials online shared by many food bloggers which I am sure you will find quite useful. If you are unable to find them, just email me and I will be happy to reply to your email.
